Selhurst Park witnessed one of the most improbable comebacks of the season as Burnley ended their 16-match winless run with a chaotic 3-2 victory over Crystal Palace. Despite a dominant start from the Eagles, a defensive collapse late in the first half handed the Clarets a lifeline they desperately needed.
Palace took complete control early on through Jørgen Strand Larsen. The striker opened the scoring in the 17th minute with a clever lob over the goalkeeper and doubled the lead in the 33rd minute with a powerful header from a Jefferson Lerma cross. At 2-0, Oliver Glasner’s side looked set for a comfortable evening.
However, the game shifted violently in the 40th minute. Hannibal Mejbri pulled one back for Burnley with a sharp finish into the bottom corner. Four minutes later, Jaidon Anthony silenced the home crowd with a clinical strike from the left side of the box to equalize. The disaster was completed for Palace in stoppage time (45+2') when a goalmouth scramble resulted in Jefferson Lerma inadvertently turning the ball into his own net.
