Nottingham Forest were left wondering what they had to do to score as they were held to a 0-0 draw by a resilient Wolverhampton Wanderers side. Sean Dyche’s men dominated nearly every statistical category, but a combination of wasteful finishing and an inspired performance from Wolves keeper José Sá kept the scoreline blank.
From the opening whistle, Forest’s attacking quartet of Morgan Gibbs-White, Callum Hudson-Odoi, and Lorenzo Lucca relentlessly pressured the Wolves backline. Gibbs-White, facing his former club, saw an early goalbound effort spectacularly tipped over by Sá, setting the tone for the evening. By halftime, Forest had recorded 16 shots, but the breakthrough remained elusive.
The second half followed an identical pattern. Dyche introduced Dan Ndoye and Igor Jesus in an attempt to find a clinical edge, but Wolves’ low block held firm. The visitors offered almost nothing in attack, finishing the game with just a handful of attempts, but manager Rob Edwards will be delighted with the defensive discipline shown by Santiago Bueno and Yerson Mosquera.
In the final minutes, a goalmouth scramble saw Lorenzo Lucca’s header cleared off the line, marking Forest’s 31st and final attempt of a night characterized by total dominance but zero reward.
What It Means: Nottingham Forest remain in 17th place, now four points clear of the relegation zone. For Wolves, the point does little to move them from the bottom of the table, but it halts a losing streak and provides a sliver of hope for their survival bid.
